The Main Street Players

Main Street Players is an enthusiastic and dedicated theatre troupe located in Edgefield SC. We are made up of volunteers from Edgefield, Aiken SC, Augusta GA and other surrounding areas. 

All of our performances are in the historic Discovery Center in Downtown Edgefield. We perform in an intimate setting, and all seats are general admission. 

We are dedicated to bringing live theatre to Edgefield and love to be involved in the community.

 Four Old Broads, Jan. 24-Feb. 1, 2025:  Retired burlesque queen Beatrice Shelton desperately needs a vacation. A Sassy Seniors Cruise through the Caribbean may be just the ticket if she can just convince her best friend, Eaddy Mae Clayton, to stop praying and go with her. Unfortunately, things have not been very pleasant at Magnolia Place Assisted Living since Nurse Pat Jones began working there. The newest resident, Imogene Fletcher, is suddenly losing her memory. Maude Jenkins is obsessed with her favorite soap opera and planning her own funeral. Sam Smith, retired Elvis impersonator, keeps trying to bed every woman in the building. A hilarious mystery unfolds as the gals try to outsmart the evil Nurse Pat Jones and figure out why so many residents have been moved to “the dark side,” what exactly IS that mysterious pill, and what happened to Doctor Head? 

Driving Miss Daisy, March 7-16, 2025:  A poignant play exploring the evolving friendship between Daisy Werthan, an elderly Jewish widow, and her African-American chauffeur, Hoke Colburn, in 1940s Atlanta. 

The Odd Couple, May 23-June 1, 2025:  Neil Simon follows mismatched roommates Felix Ungar and Oscar Madison, whose contrasting personalities lead to comedic clashes and unexpected revelations.
